Born in Erfurt, East Germany. Second daughter of plumber Hans
Hafermalz and his wife Helga.
1956 - 57
Family escaped to West Germany, settling near Stuttgart.
1968 - 72
Christine apprenticed to master goldsmiths Herbert Fischer & Werner
Raschke in Schwäbisch Gmünd.
1972
Opened business as 'Goldschmiede Christin' in Stuttgart, making
and selling art jewellery.
1973
Election to the 'Verband Bildender Künstler', the Union of
Professional Artists.
1988
Workshop transferred to Sussex, England.
Election to the 'Guild of Sussex Craftsmen'.
1992
Workshop transferred to Auckland, New Zealand.
2006
Invitation to join Gesellschaft fuer Goldschmiedekunst, Hanau.
2008
AGR Matthey Fine Jewellery Award winner, National Jewellery Showcase, Wellington.
